Top 3 Book Recommendations and How They Have Changed My Business Perspective

Do you read?

I am only asking this question, because for a really long time, I did not pay attention to any of the books I read. I realize now, that it’s not only important to read, and everyday, but its also important to practice what you learn in books.

Reading to me, is not only important to my business, its vital. It gives me such a satisfaction learning amazing new concepts, many of which I use on my own blogs.

If you knew me, you would know that If I love something, I will recommend it. Lately, I have been on a literally high. I say “high” because I have been reading a lot lately.

Over the past few months, I have been really looking forward to doing new things as part of my new years resolution.

One objective on my list: Read more, and write more.

I have taken it upon myself, to read more and try to influence others to do the same, if I really love a book. Well, today I have 3 amazing new books to share with you!

One of my all-time favorite books to date which teaches me why its so important for me to take my business seriously is Rich Dad Poor Dad: What The Rich Teach Their Kids About Money That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not!, by Robert T. Kiyosaki.

When I started blogging, I did it for fun. I wanted to get out there with other bloggers, and share my own personal experience as a blogger, of what its like to be a blogger and a parent at the same time. It wasn’t long until I saw all of the potential that blogging had, such as being able to land private clients, and build my very own portfolio online, so that I could write my own salary one day.

It took me a months to completely get out of my comfort zone, so that I could be able to go for the jobs that the Pro writers were going for. It wasn’t easy, but I did it and now looking back, I am very glad I did it, but I regret waiting so long for me to start my career.

One thing that I learned from this book, is why it is so important to
“Think outside the box”. Plain and simple.

It is so important, and at the same time, it is incredibly important to teach our kids that (to those that have kids).

I want to teach my son to be better. To think about creating and building something of his own. However, I am teaching him that by leading by example. You will find that in the book!

this is another book that not only have I lived by, but its helped me achieve financial freedom through my work. I think it was quite interesting, especially when it came down to seeing how people manage their money. When I began blogging, i’m actually ashamed to say that I was in debt. Not much, but enough to have me take my blogging more seriously, when I started to land paying clients.

Slowly, I began to notice how even though I was making a considerable amount of money, I was still always short on cash. It was one of those things that make you wonder. You know?

I came across this book, because a really good friend of mine recommended it for me, once she heard about my financial problems. She told me and I quote “it will change the way you see money, and how you spend it”. I’ll admit, its scary how right she was.

I don’t know about any one else out there, but I was shocked to see where all my money was going. I hated counting my paychecks to the penny, but now, I realize how important it is to do that if you want a deeper control of your finances.

Here is a small preview of what I have learned from the book: If we took a look at our finances, and saw where all of the money we work for is going, we would all have more savings than debt.

I’m not going to ruin the book for you (you might hurt me!), but I do recommend it, especially if you are making more money, and you want to think about investments, or you are starting to think about investing more in your business.

Read the book!

One of the books that I am constantly referring back to whenever I make a financial decision is More than Enough: The Ten Keys to Changing Your Financial Destiny. I have not been very smart about my finances in the past, and to this day I regret a lot of the decisions that I made when it came to money.

Dave Ramsey is really a fantastic Author who will open up your mind and answer a lot of the questions that you may have about money, spending habits, investments. etc. I recommend his books if you want to read more about how to be more financially secure!

Here is a link to all of the books mentioned in the post. I hope you enjoy these books as much as I did!
